Beaumont's Next Big Ideas: Lamar Entrepreneurs Compete for $10,500 |
The next big idea might already be taking shape right here in Beaumont. |

At Lamar University, aspiring entrepreneurs are getting ready to turn their ideas into opportunities through Cardinal Ideas Pitch, an annual competition hosted by the university's Venture Center.
On Thursday, November 12, participants will present their business concepts to a panel of judges, competing for a share of $10,500 in awards. Top prizes include $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second, and $1,000 for third.
But this is about more than prize money.
It's about encouraging people to think creatively, solve real problems, and imagine businesses that could contribute to the future of Southeast Texas.
Where Community Meets Opportunity
Lamar's Venture Center is building connections among students, entrepreneurs, mentors, and community leaders.
Through pitch competitions, business development programs, and mentorship, the center is helping turn promising ideas into practical possibilities.
And that's something worth celebrating.
Because a thriving Beaumont isn't built by established businesses alone. It's also shaped by the people willing to take a chance on something new, and the community willing to encourage them.
