Dear Beaumont,

Fifty-two weeks ago, we hit send on a simple idea; shine a brighter light on the people, places and progress that make Beaumont home.

A year later, you're still here, and that's the real win.

The best part of the story has always been you.

Year Two won't be more of the same. We're making more room for your stories, your discoveries, and your Beaumont.

Thank you for reading, sharing and staying connected.

THE YEAR IN ONE LOOK

THE HOMETOWN SPOTLIGHT
Big moves. Bigger possibilities.
Behind every hometown headline is somebody who showed up and did the work. This year, we saw young innovators, community organizers, educators, and neighbors giving Beaumont something to cheer about.
WHO'S MAKING BIG MOVES IN YOUR CORNER OF THE 409?

Beaumont Trees is a new nonprofit planning to strengthen the city’s tree canopy with native plantings.

Led by William Pearce and Johnathan Gandy, the initiative responds to tree loss from severe weather and aging trees.

The group is emphasizing species suited to Southeast Texas and the long-term value of shade, habitat and stormwater benefits.

Planting dates and volunteer signup details have not yet been confirmed, so the immediate news is the organization’s mission and proposed direction.

Beaumont’s first official Veterans Day parade arrives Saturday, November 7, at 10 a.m. at Rogers Park.

The Mayor’s Veterans Coalition organized an accessible route that starts near the community center, travels along Gladys Avenue and Dowlen Road, and returns through the library property.

The gathering celebrates local service members while helping veterans and their families feel connected to the broader community.

Residents can line the route, and interested veterans or organizations can request participation information at 409-833-9593.

The Downtown Beaumont Art Crawl returns Saturday, November 7, from 2 to 6 p.m.

The free, self-guided event invites visitors into local studios, museums and creative spaces, with 13 venues and partners participating.

Organizer Dario Bucheli hopes the crawl helps more residents discover and support the artists working in their own community.

Visitors can choose their own route and should check individual venues for any separate evening activities.

Your calendar doesn't get to decide your worth.

Between obligations, changes and everybody else's needs, it's easy to lose your own breathing room. Here's your reminder to reclaim one small piece of the week: a quiet walk, an earlier bedtime or a conversation you've been putting off.

Try this: Ask yourself, “What would make this week feel 10% lighter?” Then choose one doable thing.

A little elegance. A little edge. A whole lotta Beaumont.
