In 1997, Katharine Carmichael saw a gap: People wanted gourmet food without the time commitment or the cooking hassle. So she started a tiny take-out and catering operation. Simple concept. Ridiculously good execution.

 

By 2004, customers were basically begging her to open a sit-down restaurant. So she moved into the stunning historic Mildred Building on Calder and MLK—and the rest is Beaumont history.

Chef Will Carter runs the kitchen, creating daily specials that give regulars a reason to keep coming back. We're talking:
