Community Events This Week: Spring Activities and State Fair Preview

Your weekly guide to can't-miss events in the Golden Triangle

Spring is in full swing in Beaumont, and this week brings a packed calendar of activities for all ages. Whether you're looking for family-friendly crafts, educational programs, or a preview of the biggest event of the season, we've got you covered.

Wednesday at the Library

The R.C. Miller Library at 801 Pearl Street is the place to be today with a full slate of programming:

Spring Spanish Storytime: Animales kicks off at 9:45 AM with a Spanish-language adventure featuring zoo animals. Perfect for introducing little ones to a new language through stories.

Crafternoon: Spring Craft with Paper Air Balloons gives kids a chance to get creative with colorful card stock and make their own paper air balloons. A great after-school activity.

Creative Corner invites you to "Unleash Your Inner Artist" with a brand new creative project each session. All skill levels welcome.

Teen Homeschool Hangout (ages 13-18) takes participants on a virtual tour around Ireland this week. A fun way for homeschool teens to socialize and learn together.

Crafting Club meets for adults who want to bring their work-in-progress or start something new. All types of crafters are welcome to gather, share techniques, and enjoy creative company.

Till The Next Episode (ages 18+) is for TV enthusiasts who want to watch and discuss new series. This session features the first episode of The Last Ship.

Coming This Weekend

Looking ahead to the weekend, keep an eye out for additional programming at the library and community centers. The city's event calendar typically updates with weekend activities mid-week, so check beaumonttexas.gov/calendar for the latest additions.

South Texas State Fair Preview

Mark your calendars: the South Texas State Fair returns to Ford Park from March 26 through April 5. This annual tradition brings together carnival rides, livestock shows, PRCA rodeo events, indoor shopping, outdoor food vendors, and local entertainment.

The fair is a cornerstone of spring in Southeast Texas, drawing visitors from across the region for deep-fried treats, midway games, and that unmistakable fair atmosphere. Whether you're there for the rodeo, the funnel cakes, or just to soak up the community spirit, it's an event that defines the season.

Tickets and schedules will be available at ymbl.org as opening day approaches.

Save the Date

Looking beyond this week, Port Neches Riverfest and This Is Home Fest are both on the horizon for 2026. Beaumont's festival season is just getting started, and the Golden Triangle is ready to celebrate.

Have an event to share? Community submissions are always welcome.
