Every week in Beaumont someone decides to build something.

Sometimes it is a business they have been dreaming about for years. Sometimes it is a side gig that quietly becomes the main thing. Sometimes it is a skill they already have that they finally decide to stop giving away and start charging for. The decision looks different every time. But the feeling behind it is the same: I think I could do this. I just do not know where to start.

The Proof is a new recurring series from The Beaumont Current dedicated to those people. Every week we will sit down with a local entrepreneur at some stage of the journey, someone who decided to build something here in the 409, and we will tell their story. Not the polished version. The real one. The first obstacle. The moment they almost quit. The thing they wish someone had told them before they started.

We are launching this series with a story that is not just about one business. It is about a model that is quietly creating entrepreneurs out of people who may never have thought of themselves that way.

When the owner of Sola Salon Studios looked at Beaumont, he saw something others had missed.

"Beaumont's demographics had a high number of salons per capita so it felt like the demand was there," he says. "Choosing Beaumont was about filling that gap and giving these amazing local artists a premium place to call home and build their own brands."

Sola Salon Studios at 6530 Delaware Street is now home to 36 independent beauty professionals. Hair stylists and color specialists, barbers, estheticians, nail technicians, massage therapists, lash artists, and yes, even doctors, nurses, and tattoo artists. Each one running their own private business out of their own fully enclosed studio. Their prices. Their schedule. Their clients. Their income. Their brand.

The model sits in a space most people do not know exists between working for a salon owner and building a standalone salon from scratch. For many beauty professionals, the fear of making that leap is real.

"A common fear most beauty pros have is that they will be going on their own, and are afraid what would happen if their clients don't follow them," he says. "When you combine that worry with the stress of managing overhead, signing a commercial lease, and handling all the back-end business logistics on your own, it can feel incredibly overwhelming."

What happens six months after they make the move anyway?

"They love having complete control over their schedules, the freedom to decorate their suites to match their personality, and the boost in their income. Seeing all 36 of our professionals so happy and thriving is easily the most rewarding part of this entire journey."

For anyone in Beaumont sitting on a dream right now, his message is direct.

"It's okay to be scared, but don't let that stop you. The beautiful thing about Sola is that you're in business for yourself, but you are never by yourself. We take care of the heavy lifting and the premium space so you can just focus on your craft and loving your clients. If you have the dream and the drive, Beaumont is a community that loves to support its own, and we are right here to help you open that door."

There are currently more than 20,000 independent business owners in the Sola national community. Thirty-six of them are right here in Beaumont at 6530 Delaware Street. If you are ready to open that door, reach Sola Beaumont at 409-504-7405 or visit solasalonstudios.com/locations/beaumont.
