78th Annual Neches River Festival — Coronation of Queen Neches LXXVIII

Together on the Neches

Seventy-eight years. That is how long this city has been gathering around the Neches River every spring to crown a queen, honor its youth, and remind itself what community actually feels like. If you have never been, this is the year. If you have been every year, you already know what it means.

Tonight's Coronation — Queen Neches LXXVIII is crowned tonight at the Julie Rogers Theatre, with royal court presentation and scholarship awards. Tickets are available to the public at NechesRiverFestival.com. Doors open at 5pm, coronation begins at 6pm.

This Year's Theme — "Together on the Neches." Over 150 youth participants representing every high school in Beaumont are part of this year's festival. That is not a detail. That is the whole point.

Mary Grace Baker Fun Run — This morning's one-mile fun run was named in honor of Mary Grace Baker, who was set to serve as an attendant to this year's queen before she was among the 27 lives lost in the Camp Mystic flooding on Fourth of July weekend 2025. The community showed up to run in her honor. That is Beaumont.

Last Night's Parade — If you missed Friday's street party and parade through downtown with more than 60 entries, marching bands, food trucks, and Albert Nolen as grand marshal, there is always next year. Make it a tradition.
