Some of the strongest examples of community leadership happen away from the spotlight.

This October, Gift of Life is recognizing Sarah Wells, owner of Well Done by Sarah Wells, as one of its 2026 Angels Among Us honorees.

Wells has supported numerous Southeast Texas causes and previously served as president of the Junior League of Beaumont.

Her commitment to giving back is rooted in family example and personal experiences with cancer.

The recognition reflects a kind of service that does not begin or end with a single fundraiser.

It is about showing up for organizations, encouraging others to get involved and making room for neighbors who need support.

Wells and other honorees are expected to be recognized at Gift of Life's Ribbon Run Monster Dash on October 31 at the Beaumont Civic Center.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues, stories like hers remind us that a community's strength is often found in the people quietly helping others move forward.
