Lamar Launches a Doctorate in Energy Management |
A new doctoral program and Southeast Texas Energy Day point toward the region's next generation of energy leadership. |

Lamar University has launched a Doctor of Business Administration in Energy Management, positioning Beaumont to help train the next generation of leaders in an industry central to Southeast Texas.
The program is designed for experienced professionals in energy and related industries and is offered online.
According to Lamar, the curriculum spans energy finance, policy, analytics, sustainability and artificial intelligence.
The university says its first cohort includes 13 students who completed their opening course this summer.
The launch coincides with Southeast Texas Energy Day, a new annual observance designated by Jefferson County Commissioners Court for the second Friday in October.
Lamar is serving as host for the inaugural observance.
The significance reaches beyond a new degree title: it connects Beaumont's energy heritage to the decisions, technologies and leadership skills that will shape the industry's future.
For experienced energy professionals, the program creates a way to pursue advanced management education without leaving their careers behind.
Details are available through Lamar University's College of Business at lamar.edu. |
