If You Have a Blue Bin, You Need to Read This Before August 31 |
The City of Beaumont is ending blue bin collection on August 31. Here is exactly what to do right now so you are not caught off guard. |

If you have been using a blue bin as a second trash container, your time is running out. The City of Beaumont will stop collecting from blue recycling containers on August 31, 2026. The deadline was extended from July to give residents more time, August 31 is the final collection date.
Here is what you need to know.
The blue bins were part of Beaumont's recycling program, which ended in 2019. The containers are privately owned, not city-issued, and the city has been collecting from them as a courtesy for years. That courtesy ends August 31.
You have two options. The first is to request a second city-issued green trash container. You can do this by visiting beaumonttexas.gov and completing the Solid Waste Option to Change Form, or by calling the Solid Waste Division at 409-842-1483. Additional monthly service fees and a one-time delivery charge will apply.
The second option is to schedule a pickup of the blue bin itself. The city will come collect it and repurpose it for municipal use rather than send it to a landfill. To schedule that pickup, call 311 and ask to speak to Solid Waste.
Do not wait on this. August 31 is six weeks away. |
