Beaumont’s creative community is opening doors that most residents usually pass without realizing what is happening inside.
The second annual Downtown Beaumont Art Crawl takes place Saturday, November 7, from 2 to 6 p.m..
Admission is free, and the experience is self-guided, so visitors can choose the studios and cultural spaces that interest them.
That makes it a welcoming afternoon for curious newcomers as well as people who already collect or make art.
Organizer and artist Dario Bucheli helped turn a small studio-visit idea into a broader showcase of Beaumont creativity.
This year’s participating network includes 13 venues and partners, with names such as the Beaumont Art League, Art Museum of Southeast Texas and Dishman Art Museum among the lineup.
Other participants include working studios, independent creative businesses and community partners.
The format encourages people to meet artists, ask questions and see work in the places where it is created.
There is no required route, which means a visitor can stop by one location or spend the afternoon exploring several.
For artists, the weekend also offers something valuable: local visibility and support.
Some participating organizations have separate evening programming, so readers should check each location’s latest schedule before making plans.
Whether you love paintings, photography, pottery or simply discovering what is happening downtown, this is a chance to see Beaumont through fresh eyes. |
