Residents Invited to Celebrate and Support Local Food Bank |
Beaumont is set to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s enduring legacy with its 57th Annual MLK Parade on Monday, January 20, 2026.
Organized by the Martin Luther King Jr. Support Group of Southeast Texas, the parade will commence at 10:00 AM in downtown Beaumont.
Participants will include schools, churches, civic organizations, and families from across the region.
The procession will feature vibrant floats, dynamic marching bands, and spirited dance teams, all celebrating Dr. King's vision of justice, equality, and unity.
This year, the event introduces a meaningful addition: a community service initiative supporting the Southeast Texas Food Bank.
Parade organizers are requesting a $5 donation per vehicle from participants, with all proceeds, after minimal parade expenses, benefiting the food bank.
Walkers and spectators are also encouraged to contribute voluntarily.
Judge Ransom "Duce" Jones, the parade organizer, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "It's a way of honoring the spirit and legacy of Dr. King's message of service and doing well by the community."
Parade lineup begins at 8:30 AM near Beaumont City Hall.
Donations can be made on-site or at designated collection boxes at parade partner locations.
Join the community in celebrating Dr. King's legacy and supporting neighbors in need. |
