Beaumont Libraries Are Doing the Most Right Now |
If you haven't been to a Beaumont library lately, you're missing out on way more than books. |
The Beaumont Public Library System is running 60+ programs this month, and they're not your typical story time and craft hour lineup—though those are happening too. We're talking body-doubling work sessions for adults who need accountability, STEM programs that actually feel like play, creative workshops, and regular community gatherings that give people a reason to leave the house and connect.
Here's what's happening this week alone:
For Parents & Kids: Story times every morning, LEGO club, after-school tutoring, spring break movie days, and hands-on STEM activities that won't break your budget or require you to clean glitter off your floor for three weeks.
For Homeschoolers: Dedicated programs designed to give both kids and parents a break from the kitchen table classroom.
For Adults: Book clubs, computer classes, job search help, tax preparation assistance, and—this one's a favorite—"Shelve Your Excuses," a body-doubling session where you bring your laptop and actually get work done in the company of other people doing the same. It's like a coffee shop, but free and quieter.
For Creatives & Lifelong Learners: Writing groups, art workshops, genealogy help, and programs that assume you're still curious about the world even if you're not in school anymore.
All of this is free. All of it is open to the public. And most of it doesn't require registration—you just show up.
