On Friday, June 5, the Adult Protective Services 14th Annual Walk-A-Thon returns to the Lakeside Center at 150 Magnolia Street.
The event is free, family-friendly, and focused on something the community does not talk about enough: the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of senior citizens and adults with disabilities in Southeast Texas.
Organizers say the walk continues to grow each year as residents, local organizations, and community supporters come together for the cause. Participants can expect fitness, fellowship, and advocacy.
If you have a parent, a grandparent, or a neighbor you look out for, this one is worth showing up for. |
