Chip Your Pet Month: Beaumont Animal Care Encourages Microchipping |
May is the perfect time to protect your furry family members |
May is Chip Your Pet Month, and Beaumont Animal Care is encouraging residents to microchip their pets.
Microchipping is one of the simplest ways to make sure a lost pet finds its way home. A tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice, is inserted under the pet's skin. If the pet is ever lost and brought to a shelter or vet, the chip can be scanned to reveal the owner's contact information.
With summer travel and outdoor activity increasing, now is the time to make sure your furry family members have that extra layer of protection. More pets go missing during summer months than any other time of year.
Beaumont Animal Care also offers volunteer orientation for community members who want to help animals in our community. Volunteers assist with animal care, adoption events, and community outreach.
